Brainstorming Our Film Intro

Before we have to create our own film intro later in the year to be graded by Cambridge our teacher told us to create a practice film intro. We could choose to get into groups of up to 3 or do it individually which is the route that I choose. Now to prepare for the filming of this intro we would have to brainstorm, what would it be about, where we would film it, who would be the actors, what equipment would be used to film it, etc.

The story would then be made into a storyboard. What is a storyboard you may ask well - A storyboard is a sequence of drawings, with directions and possible some dialogue representing the shots planned for a movie or television production.

The idea I developed for the film intro became a girl who kept on reliving the same exact weird day over and over again without knowing it but then discovering it at the end, which would leave the rest of the movie to discover why this is happening while the girl continues reliving the same day. I would focus this film to being a psychological thriller with a target audience of teens to young adults any gender. I chose that specific demographic as I believe the film could be understood to its fullest extent and enjoyed by this age as well as by any gender. I discovered that I would film all the home scenes in my own apt and then the outdoor scenes at a park near my apt. as well as an outdoor shopping center for different scenery. For the filming I choose to use my I-phone as well as these mics I would attach to the characters which I borrowed from my teacher.

What I learned while brainstorming this intro was that it takes much clear understanding of what you are going to film before you film it. This is definitely not a process you could skip and go into filming blindly without figuring out what you will need or do as then everything will be much harder than it has to be.
